Together for a Cleaner Grecia! The results of a cleanup morning in Puente de Piedra, Grecia
This past Saturday, September 26, 2026, the community of Grecia once again showed what it’s made of when we come together for a common cause. Starting at 8:30 a.m., volunteers from different parts of the canton gathered at Plaza de Puente de Piedra wearing comfortable clothes, hats, and insect repellent and, above all, bringing a great attitude to take care of our public spaces.

One of the most valuable and inspiring aspects of this event was seeing how various organizations, institutions, and residents joined forces for the environmental well-being of our area. This well-organized and safe event included the active participation of:

In addition, we would like to extend a very special thank you to the Grecia Police Department for joining us and providing their support throughout the entire route, as well as to the City of Grecia for its valuable technical and logistical assistance. When we work as a team, the results are even greater!
A huge impact on our streets and oceans
Thanks to the commitment of every volunteer and the equipment provided for the event (tools, water, and snacks), we achieved an impressive result:We collected 96 kg of trash!
It may sound like just another number, but those 96 kg less on the streets represent trash that we directly prevented from polluting our rivers and flooding marine ecosystems. Every bottle, wrapper, and piece of plastic we remove helps make our streets cleaner and more pleasant places for everyone.
