Team Building in Occidente (West of San Jose) Costa Rica

Option 1
Tree planting
The team plants native trees in areas of active reforestation in the Western Region of the Central Valley.
Each person plants their own tree, learns about the species they planted. At the end of the day, the company has a forested area with its name and the exact data to include in its CSR report.

Option 2
Install camera traps
The team installs camera traps on trails and biological corridors in the Occidente area of Costa Rica.
A local biologist explains which animals inhabit the area, how wildlife is monitored, and why biological corridors are essential for biodiversity. Weeks later, FUNDEMA sends them the first images captured by the cameras their team installed.

River cleaning
The team is working alongside the cleanup of one of the rivers in the Occidente (West) Region. Before entering the river, a guide explains the river ecosystem, the species that depend on it, and the direct impact of pollution on downstream communities.
It's a physical, collaborative activity with a visible result at the end of the day, the before and after that your communications teams will want to share.

Option 4
Pollinator hotels
The team builds "insect hotels" and pollination stations to place at key points along the Western Biological Corridor, while learning to record local species through citizen science.
A specialist from FUNDEMA explains the silent crisis of pollinators (native stingless bees, butterflies and beetles) and how these small beings sustain the agricultural and forestry production of Grecia and Sarchí.
The collaborators work with their hands assembling structures with natural materials and learn to use citizen science apps (such as iNaturalist) to monitor biodiversity in their own homes and businesses.
At the end of the day, they take a mini-hotel to the office or their homes and leave others installed in important areas of the West.
